Water Damage to Flats in Kensington.
Just look at how lovely the hall stairs and landing to these flats look, unfortunately a leaking pipe in the airing cupboard coursed damaged to the newly decorated common parts of the property, we had to cut a hole into the wall through the old lath and plaster to gain access to the pipe.
The owners of the flats had just completed extensive renovation of the period property and were just about to start other major works to the adjoining staircase.
As you can see here we cut a hole into the wall first to try and find the pipe that was coursing the problem, we then extended the hole to the ceiling following the trail of the water, luckily for the owners of this flat we found the leak quickly and was able to stop the water from penetrating down to the next level.
Dehumidifiers were deployed immediately to dry out the water from the surrounding area, the carpets had already started to smell so we lifted them and allowed the air to circulate , I re-attended the property the following day to change the tank on the dehumidifiers and the carpets and the remainder of the damaged ceiling and walls had dried significantly. Pricing was put foreword to the customer for the insurance company and work is set to start shortly on restoring the water damage areas back to there original condition.
